Description:
  This course is designed to explore the use of a camera and darkroom as a means of artistic expression and observation. Students achieve a working knowledge of a fully manual 35mm camera and complete darkroom techniques. Students are also encouraged to articulate their ideas in group critique sessions. Upon completion of the course, students should possess the practical skills to produce expressive images and have an increased awareness of art and its power.

Expectations:  Upon completion of the course, students are expected to have a working knowledge of all darkroom procedures in addition to a manual 35mm camera (Pentax ZXM w/ 50mm lens).  Students will also expand their ability to discuss and interpret works of art, specifically photographs.
